SAAM SMIT Canada is seeking Masters with barge handling experience to work on a project servicing a dredging contract in Kitimat, BC until March of 2019.
The position will perform shift work supporting the dredging and site preparation for an LNG export terminal. The tour of duty will be either a 7 day or 14 day rotation. Accommodation and lodging will be provided during each tour of duty. Persons residing outside of Kitimat will be given air transportation within British Columbia.
• Master, Limited for a Vessel of less than 60 GRT
• Current Marine Medical
• Current Marine Basic First Aid
Preference will be given to those candidates holding a Master, 150 GRT Domestic Certificate, or the Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) certificate. It is also desirable for candidates to have experience working around marine construction and dredging projects.
To gain site access, candidates are required to participate in a pre-employment medical, which includes drug and alcohol screening.
Successful candidates must be or become a member in good standing with the Canadian Merchant Service Guild.
